An old man whose age is unknown A Norman descendant who keeps a secret to himself and lives a tranquil life with no visitors. He was living with Kiske, a girl he found in a village and took home with him. One day Kiske runs away and he starts his journey to find her.

A sincere Christian priest. He is concerned about Byzantine Christians embroiled in meaningless doctrine battles rather than being truly religious. Worried about Rhena on a journey after receiving an oracle, he goes on the road to protect her.

An Anglo-Saxon commoner He's become a member of Saint Knights for his brilliant defense against enemy attacks at an early age. He starts his journey on a recon- naissance mission for Baghdad after the military gave him the assignment to look out for suspicious moves by the Saracens.

A mercenary soldier who manages to get by every day moving from one battlefield to another. He's been yearning for SilkRoad, the unknown world, in his insipid daily life.

A former knight highly ranked in the military. He has become a slave gladiator after being set up by other knights jealous of him. He goes on a journey with an assign- ment. If he fails, the woman he's in love with may get killed.
Barkan
A member of the Gothic Barbarian tribe. Disappointed at the ever-weakening tribe, he leaves the tribe counting solely on his bravery. He heads south as far as Constantinople and starts his journey.
