Riot has introduced a brand-new ADC (Marksman) champion to the world of League of Legends: Yunara! With deep ties to the Spirit Realm and a mysterious past, she brings a unique blend of lore and gameplay that is sure to catch the attention of both story lovers and competitive players.

Background (Lore)
Yunara is a playable Marksman champion in League of Legends. Known as the Devoted Shrine Maiden of Ionia, she currently resides in a temple within the Spirit Realm.

Centuries ago, she was born in Ionia and joined the Kinkou Order at a young age, eventually earning the title Fist of Shadow. When the Darkin War broke out, several Darkin invaded the First Lands by disguising themselves as Kanmei—divine spirits revered by the Ionians. This event came to be known as the War of the False Kanmei.

In a desperate effort to save her people, Yunara prayed to the Great Spirit at her hometown's temple. Though the spirit initially refused her plea, he changed his mind upon learning that the Darkin were impersonating Kanmei. He agreed to help under one condition:

"My enemies must become yours as well."​

Bound by this pact, Yunara and the Great Spirit fought side by side to repel the False Kanmei and protect the First Lands. When the war ended, the spirit revealed a shocking truth—he was a Darkin himself. He chose to exile himself to protect the mortal realm from his own nature. Rather than leaving him, Yunara chose to follow him into exile, sealing him within the Darkin Glaive and retreating with him into the Spirit Realm.

For generations, her sacrifice lived on in legend. She remained in the Spirit Realm until the power of Wyldbloom unexpectedly returned both Yunara and her shrine to the mortal world.
